AFEA Congress has been recognized with the Silver Award in the Sports Events Category at the prestigious Event Awards 2025. This accolade was awarded in acknowledgment of its pivotal role as the Local Event Partner of the FIRST Global Challenge 2024. This marks the second recognition for AFEA Congress in the organization of the #FGC24, reaffirming its dedication to delivering world-class events that inspire innovation, foster collaboration, and advance global dialogue on critical issues.
The award ceremony took place on Friday, January 24th, 2025, at the InterContinental Athenaeum Athens. The award was accepted alongside Mellon Lab and the Deputy Minister Konstantinos Kyranakis of the Greek Ministry of Digital Governance, whose guidance and support were instrumental throughout this journey. AFEA Congress was further represented at the ceremony by its CEO, Sissy Lignou, who also had the privilege of serving on the judging committee of the awards. Additionally, in her capacity as President of HAPCO & DES, Sissy Lignou delivered a welcoming address, underscoring AFEA Congress’s ongoing commitment to excellence in the industry.
